Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Principal Public Relations Representative to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Communications team with the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. This position may allow full time telecommuting as an option.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Sentinel Public Relations and Advocacy Communications Plan in partnership with key internal and external customers.
  • Plans, writes and publishes information utilizing print, broadcast and/or intranet/internet media/social media. Writes and edits press releases, media materials, speeches, scripts, articles and business presentations. Influences public opinion and policy decisions through strategic communications activities.
  • Support community relations and supplier events.
  • Maintain catalog of approved content. Serve as a generalist within the business unit to support tactics in alignment with the communications plan.
  • Coordinate distinguished visitor engagements.
  • Identify and develop internal and external story telling opportunities.
  • Demonstrate your strong writing, editing and digital communications skills.
  • Collect and analyze data, make recommendations to improve our approach and the results of future communications, events and activities. Collaborate across teams within the enterprise.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience OR 3 years with a master's degree
  • Experience in executing both internal and external strategic communications campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience with writing, storytelling, grammar, and proofreading
  • Experience with social media and brand journalism.
  • Experience leveraging data to create and execute communications strategies, plans, programs and events.
  • Understanding of AP writing style.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and Maintain a DoD Clearance.

Preferred qualifications

  • Active security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and resourcefulness skills with high attention to detail; able to develop solutions to moderately complex problems.
  • Able to prioritize competing demands and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business presence with a track record of building trusting relationships across teams and leaders.
  • Energetic team player eager to learn and propose innovative ideas that support strategic objectives.

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
