About The Role

ABC Supply, North America’s largest distributor of exterior and interior building products, is seeking a motivated Warehouse Lead to join our team in Kitchener, ON . In this role, you will receive materials, pull orders for walk-in customers, operate forklifts, and load products onto delivery trucks.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for assisting leadership in providing direction of daily warehouse operations to the warehouse team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain Inventory
  • Oversee receipt, inspection, and storage of building materials.
  • Ensure inventory is accurately tracked, stored in the correct locations, and readily accessible.
  • Perform regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciling discrepancies to ensure accurate records.
  • Warehouse Organization and Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Optimize warehouse space for inventory efficiency.
  • Ensure efficient and safe handling, storage, and distribution of building materials.
  • Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety inspections and report hazardous or unsafe conditions to Branch Manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Ensure all warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) is properly maintained and in safe working condition.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Customer Service
  • Assist in resolving any warehouse-related customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that orders are accurately fulfilled to meet customer expectations.
  • Responsibilities may include assisting with delivery of materials to customers or jobsites and delivery functions including unloading and staging of product at jobsites as assigned.
  • Treat all customers and coworkers in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned; job duties and responsibilities may vary from location to location.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse leadership role is preferred.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move 75-100 pounds minimum.
  • Experience in operating forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel Required: As required by the specific position, typically minimal for this type of position.

Pay Rate Information

  • $25-28/ per hour. Based on experience & qualifications.
