  • This position is for a Software Engineer role in the Retail and Lease Securitization product team at Ford Motor Credit Company.

The role as a Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of products. The Engineer will also play an integral role in the team that handles Next Generation Securitization solutions.

What you'll do...

  • Work closely with Global Securitization Partners to understand their product vision and break it down into a practical backlog of user stories for the engineering development team.
  • Handle Development, Enhancements and Production Support in the autonomous Product Driven Organization (PDO) team.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in Securitization applications.
  • Analyze and design application enhancements/corrections per requirements.
  • Develop and execute unit test plans and scripts to validate that assigned modules meet technical specifications.
  • Balance "doing it right" with "speed to delivery" by identifying and mitigating risk, generating options, educating business and other decision-makers, and taking on justified technical debt.
  • Handle rotational On-Call Support.
  • Lead assignments with minimal direction and escalate issues as necessary to management.
  • Be flexible to respond to changing priorities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product, understand the problems to be solved and deliver value to the customer.
  • Pioneer and champion the adoption of AI-based tools to continuously identify new ways to apply AI to accelerate workflows, automate legacy code analysis.
  • Work with Product Manager to understand product vision.

You'll have...

  • BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 13+ years of experience with COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2/SQL, IBM File Manager and Debugger tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with Ford Credit Securitization systems.
  • Application of AI-based tools to automate workflows.
  • Business Systems Analysis | Process Documentation | Workflow Optimization.

Even better, you may have...

  • Experience with agile methodology and PDO, experience with JIRA or similar tool preferred.
  • Strong experience on advanced SQL and relational database.
  • Strong drive for results and ability to multi-task and work Independently.
  • Self-starter with proven innovation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
