Assistant Tekla Technician

About The Role

This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects. This role will be working under the supervision of a senior or Principal Tekla Technician to carry out the following functions.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with the WSP USA team through effective communication.
  • Create accurate 3D Tekla models and structural steel detailing as per client requirements.
  • Follow applicable American codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Deliver quality work in compliance with QA/QC procedures and review processes.
  • Understand and implement region-specific and client-specific requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Follow document control procedures for all project records and communications.
  • Properly issue, maintain, and archive drawings, reports, and project documents.
  • Support team collaboration and contribute to project success.
  • Escalate technical issues and project concerns in a timely manner.

Technical Skills

  • Understand scope of work and delivery schedule from Senior Leads
  • Prepare sketches / RFIs etc. as necessary for seeking clarification from USA Co-ordnator.
  • Prepare 3D Tekla models / drawings to specified inputs received from USA.
  • Creating Custom components for effective and accurate modelling.
  • Creating Templates, Modeling Efficiency Tools and Reports, Clash Check, Model Validation, and Drawing Automation,.
  • Exporting to IFC, DWG, and CNC formats.
  • Importing reference models (Revit, DWG, IFC).
  • Managing model sharing and collaboration (Trimble Connect, multi-user mode).
  • Demonstrate an awareness of project risk issues, flagging potential problems to team leader.

Key Competencies / Skills

  • Proven ability to work on projects of varying scales, both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in the latest versions of Tekla Structures, with the ability to utilize all standard functions efficiently and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple sectors, showcasing flexibility and a deep understanding of diverse project requirements and standards.
  • Skilled in developing and modeling building elements in Tekla using structural drawings, PDFs, or hand-drafted sketches with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong grasp of both structural and architectural disciplines, enabling seamless integration and coordination of design elements.
  • Expertise in translating structural documentation into detailed Tekla models while maintaining exceptional standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Fluent in English, ensuring clear communication and documentation across global teams.
  • Diploma (Civil/ Mechanical)
  • B. Tech ( Bachelor Of Technology) (Civil/ Mechanical)
  • B. E (Bachelor of Engineering) (Civil/ Mechanical)

Experience

  • 4+ years of hands on Tekla Structures 3D Molder & Detailer experience
