About The Role

Organization Unit Purpose

Maximize customer experience by efficiently managing credit requests of the customer while ensuring efficient capital management, maximize returns and accept risks within acceptance criteria of the business.

Job Purpose

Responsible to support the business to generate maximum yield within the risk appetite and client selection criteria of the Business Ensuring the customers’ needs and requirements are addressed / met to gain maximum wallet share of business in a timely manner by assessing the risk, pricing of the risk, documentation and accurate collection of fees and interest.

Job Content

  1. Preparation of Credit proposals
  • Collaborate and interact with RMs on an on-going basis to discuss and structure credit that best fits the risk appetite and acceptability criteria of the Bank
  • Proposes facility structure, covenants, conditions ensuring balance between client needs and bank’s credit risk appetite in consultation with the RM
  • Assesses clients risk profile and proposal identifying key topics/ questions to be covered on the write up
  • Completes FA in relevant approval systems filling in required information (client details, Collateral, facilities, etc.)
  • Based on risk measures advice on capital optimization alternate strategies which includes, appropriate limits, collateral and pricing
  • Prepares FA summary/write-up
  • Occasionally, joins RMs in client meetings to ask key credit questions
  • Calculates client’s risk grade leveraging the bank’s models
  • Liaise with Credit on FA and other credit issues and ensure quick turnaround on queries
  • Attend weekly meetings with RM/Team Leaders/GCD as required
  1. Client documentation
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Documentation Team to produce correct documentation for the customer in an efficient manner
  • Minimize rework and re-presentation of documentation
  • Work closely with RM team to ensure minimal document deficiency
  1. Risk management
  • Assist RMs / SRMs in regular a/c risk monitoring based on established guidance
  • Tests covenants of clients in the portfolio
  • Tests financial triggers for watch listed clients
  • Monitoring of exception reports, etc
  1. Maintaining credit files with updated information

Maintain in-house discipline towards filing, DDR and covenant monitoring, regularization of excesses or one-offs and follow ups for regularization of all deferral and waivers

  1. Customer service

Ensure top class customer service by coordinating with Coverage, GCD and CRAD to resolve queries and process requests in a timely manner.

Education

Must be a graduate with finance or accounting bachelor degree. Holders of professional accounting certification will have first priority

Experiences

  • At least 7 years in corporate banking in a relationship or credit risk management role

  • Should posses strong managerial skills in order to handle operations/portfolio accounts and to co-ordinate with other units.

  1. Accurate credit risk assessment to protect portfolio quality and support lending decisions
  • Analyse financial statements and credit data to determine the creditworthiness of corporate clients.

  • Identify potential credit risks and flag deviations from credit policy for managerial review.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports summarising findings and recommendations for approval committees.

  1. Timely loan underwriting support to enable efficient credit approval workflows
  • Review loan applications against credit risk criteria to ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers to gather necessary documentation and clarify credit terms.
  • Validate collateral valuations and ensure proper documentation is in place for secured loans.
  • Assist in structuring loan proposals that align with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.

Performance Measures

  • Accuracy of loan application assessments in line with underwriting policies.
  • Reduction in loan processing delays due to incomplete or inaccurate credit information.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with responsiveness and quality of underwriting support.
  1. Quality assurance of credit analysis outputs to maintain regulatory and internal compliance
  • Conduct periodic reviews of credit files to verify adherence to internal control standards.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or gaps in credit documentation and risk assessments.
  • Support audit activities by providing required credit analysis records and clarifications.
  • Implement feedback from compliance reviews to enhance credit assessment accuracy.

Performance Measures

  • Absence of regulatory findings related to credit documentation and risk assessment.
  • Effectiveness of corrective actions implemented following audit observations.
  • Degree of alignment between credit analysis practices and evolving regulatory standards.
  1. Collaboration with team members to foster knowledge sharing and continuous process improvement
  • Share insights on credit risk trends and emerging regulatory changes within the team.
  • Assist peers in interpreting credit policies and applying risk assessment tools correctly.
  • Contribute to refining credit analysis templates and checklists to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in training sessions to build collective expertise and maintain up-to-date skills.

Performance Measures

  • Level of team engagement in credit risk discussions and knowledge exchange.
  • Improvements in credit analysis turnaround times following process enhancements.
  • Positive feedback from peers on support and collaboration effectiveness.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as CFA Level 1 or Credit Risk Certification is preferred.
  • Continuous professional development in credit risk management and regulatory compliance.
