About The Role

THE ROLE

As Senior Asset Manager, you will be the single point of accountability for the operational, technical, and financial performance of a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets. Acting as the link between Operations, Performance, Finance, Legal, HSE, and external stakeholders, you will ensure assets achieve optimal energy production, remain fully compliant, and deliver strong returns for investors.

This is a strategic position with significant exposure to fund-level decision-making, risk management, and asset optimization initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive operational performance by monitoring KPIs such as availability, Performance Ratio (PR), inverter uptime, degradation, and energy yield.
  • Identify underperformance drivers, coordinate corrective actions, and oversee improvement initiatives to maximize generation.
  • Manage revenue performance, budget oversight, forecasting inputs, and operational expenditure across the portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with PPAs, subsidy schemes, regulatory obligations, ESG requirements, and HSE standards.
  • Lead cross-functional performance reviews and coordinate stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and risks.
  • Oversee commercial aspects of O&M agreements, service providers, warranties, and asset optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver clear performance, risk, and governance reporting to investors, lenders, and clients.
  • Promote operational excellence through continuous improvement, best-practice sharing, and standardized asset management processes.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (in English and Italian) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to put together well-written, grammatically correct emails, presentations and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate and engaging.
  • Time management & prioritization skills - the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.
  • Fast Learner – being able to quickly digest, learn and adapt to these differing challenges is key
  • Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description.
  • Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters.
  • IT literacy - you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data, particularly Excel.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, renewable energy or related discipline.
  • Significant experience (5+ years) in asset management, infrastructure operations or renewable energy portfolio management.
  • In depth knowledge of the Italian solar market, with strong understanding , experience and k nowledge of Italian regulatory compliance requirements and processes.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial performance management and commercial oversight.
  • Ability to provide structured commercial inputs into financial modelling and reporting processes.
