We are looking for a versatile and technically skilled Production Technician to support the manufacturing of cut paper swabs and various laboratory-based production activities. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating automated machinery, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Working in a shift-based environment, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient production operations, maintaining product quality, supporting laboratory assembly processes, and contributing to a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Operate, monitor, and support automated machinery used in swab production processes.
  • Load materials, oversee machine operations, perform quality inspections, and ensure accurate packing of finished products.
  • Conduct first-level troubleshooting and basic machine maintenance, including blade changes, alignment adjustments, feed corrections, and resolution of machine errors.
  • Record production, quality, and operational data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support laboratory-based production activities, including component assembly, calibrant preparation, and handling of materials used in test kit manufacturing.
  • Ensure proper labeling, traceability, storage, and usage of raw materials in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
  • Rotate across multiple production areas and functions based on operational priorities and business needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while adhering to all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing production efficiency, product quality, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and operational objectives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum Diploma qualification or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving automated production machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and equipment adjustments.
  • Experience operating production equipment and working within quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable performing manual handling tasks and working with machinery in a production setting.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kanban, and Cycle Counting .
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with standard workplace software applications.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within medical device, laboratory, healthcare, diagnostics, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to quality control inspection processes and documentation requirements.
  • Experience supporting assembly operations or laboratory production activities.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment care.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and material traceability processes.
  • Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma training/certification.
  • Previous experience working in a shift-based manufacturing environment.
