The Lead Service Integrator serves as the primary service engineering representative within cross-functional product teams, ensuring serviceability, installability, maintainability, and lifecycle support requirements are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. This role bridges Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to deliver products and solutions that enable superior customer experience and efficient field operations.

The individual will drive service readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI), Sustenance programs, product changes, and installed base enhancements while ensuring alignment with GE HealthCare service strategies and operational excellence objectives. tex

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Service Strategy & Product Development
  • Lead service engineering activities across NPI, VCP, and Sustainment programs.
  • Represent Global Service requirements during product planning, design reviews, and development milestones.
  • Ensure serviceability, diagnostics, reliability, cybersecurity, and field support requirements are incorporated into product designs.
  • Influence product architecture to minimize service costs and maximize system uptime.
  • Service Readiness & Launch Execution
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Service Readiness Plans for product releases.
  • Partner with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and service organizations to ensure successful product launches well within budget.
  • Drive creation and validation of: Service Manuals, Installation Instructions, Troubleshooting Procedures, Training Content, Service Tools, Spare Parts Strategies
  • Installed Base Engineering
  • Lead technical assessments and service solutions for Installed Base (IB) products.
  • Support field escalations and complex customer issues requiring engineering engagement.
  • Drive lifecycle management initiatives, including obsolescence mitigation, upgrades, compliance updates, and service cost optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product reliability and field performance using installed base data and customer feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Service, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and decision-making forums related to service deliverables.
  • Drive issue resolution and risk mitigation for service-related program deliverables.
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority to achieve program objectives.
  • Customer & Field Advocacy
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and field service organization within product teams.
  • Analyze field performance, service metrics, and Voice of Customer inputs.
  • Translate operational challenges into product and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support strategic customer escalations when required.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives related to service engineering and product support.
  • Establish standard work, metrics, and best practices for service integration activities.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce service costs while improving customer satisfaction and product uptime.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Biomedical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
  • 10+ years of experience in service engineering, systems engineering, product development, technical support, or medical device engineering.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects in a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and design controls.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Skills

  • Broad exposure to HW (Hardware)/ SW (Software) /Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc.)

Desired Skills

  • Experience in healthcare/ medical devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
  • Applied knowledge of Lean/Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for service
  • Proficient in handling complex data and well aware of the various project management tools
