
EMEA Regulatory Reporting - Manager

About The Role
The Manager in this role will be responsible for supporting the FINREP reporting Team in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to local European Regulators including but not limited to, Deutsche Bundesbank and several other European national competent authorities on various statistical reports, financial reports, internal management and external ad-hoc reporting.
Responsibilities & Tasks Include
- Prepare and review EMEA regulatory reports including FINREP, Funding Plans, Resolution reporting, and other applicable regulatory returns in accordance with regulatory requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Execute end to end reporting processes, including data sourcing, report preparation, validation, review, and submission support.
- Prepare reporting schedules, work papers, supporting analyses, and data provider templates required for regulatory filings.
- Analyse financial and regulatory reporting data to identify trends, fluctuations, anomalies, and potential reporting issues, and provide appropriate explanations and resolutions.
- Perform detailed review of regulatory returns prepared by team members, ensuring completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Execute and review data quality controls, edit checks, validation rules, and exception management processes, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Perform reconciliations between regulatory reports, source systems and sub-ledgers, ensuring completeness and consistency of reported data.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual processing activities within ABACUS A360, including data loads, manual adjustments, data extractions, validation checks, and reconciliations.
- Liaise with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology, Data Management, and other stakeholders to obtain, validate, and resolve reporting data requirements.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and ad hoc information requests by providing accurate reporting documentation and explanations.
- Participate in implementation of new regulatory requirements, reporting enhancements, and system changes, including user acceptance testing and control validation.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, strengthen controls, enhance data quality, and reduce manual processing.
- Maintain comprehensive process documentation, reporting procedures, control evidence, and audit trails to support regulatory reporting governance requirements.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or equivalent
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in banking or financial services
- Excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills
- Proven track record of successful project execution
- Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure deadlines
- Ability to reprioritize timely
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with other departments and represent the team in a positive manner
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with bank reporting and local German/IFRS accounting
- High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
- Chartered Accountant certification (not required but beneficial)
- Familiarity with financial products and financial institution operations
- Familiarity with European Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and German Banking Act (KWG)
Skills/ Knowledge
- Extensive experience in regulatory reporting or Financial reporting within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of FINREP, Resolution Reporting/LDR, Deposit Guarantee Scheme reporting (EinSiG), Funding Plans, COREP, or related reporting frameworks.
- Experience with ABACUS/A360 (Regnology) or similar regulatory reporting platforms.
- Experience using AI and automation tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar solutions .
- Strong understanding of EBA, ECB, CRR/CRD, SRB, and local regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proven expertise in reconciliation, data quality, controls, governance, and audit management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of Regulatory Reporting software (e.g. ABACUS A360 ) a plus
- Power-Bi /Alteryx experience would be added advantage.
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to transform a business need into a visual representation
- German Language skills are a plus
