About The Role

Assist the Manager and/or Deputy Director in

  • (i) effective implementation of financial stability framework; and
  • (ii) formulating policies to strengthen the robustness and resilience of the financial system.
  • Conduct risk assessment on the NBFIs not regulated by the Bank, considering inter-linkages and transmission of contagion risks (financial, structural and behavioral) from developments in this sector onto the financial system.
  • Conduct analytical research/study on contemporary issues such as “common asset holdings across NBFIs and banks” and “NBFIs’ shareholding in financial institutions” with implications on financial stability.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis/stress tests to assess the resilience of NBFIs at the individual level, their ability to provide support to financial institutions and assess its implications on financial stability.
  • Communicate risk assessments to relevant internal committees (e.g., FSC, FSEC, MC) and external stakeholders (e.g. via the publication of the Financial Stability Report).
  • Explore ways to enhance assessment methodologies and tools to improve the capture and management of information critical for risk analysis.
  • Explore, analyse and initiate discussions on risk mitigation measures or policy options (including macroprudential policies) that need to be put in place to preserve confidence and resilience of the structure, operations and functioning of the financial system.
  • Engage, interact and collaborate with relevant internal/external stakeholders (e.g. Securities Commission, Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission, Jabatan Audit Negara, NBFIs) on financial stability issues and policy options.
  • Academic Qualifications: University degree or professional qualification that are related to economics, finance, accounting, quantitative analysis or related disciplines
  • Experience: Not necessary for KGP graduates.
