Position Summary

Join a growing Construction & Environmental team supporting clients in some of the most specialized areas of commercial insurance. This role is ideal for either a recent Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) graduate looking to launch their insurance career or an insurance professional with several years of experience seeking to deepen their expertise in specialty risks.

Reporting to an experienced team leader, you'll play a key role in supporting brokers, preparing submissions, managing client accounts, and building relationships with carrier partners. You'll gain hands-on exposure to construction, environmental, contractor, and liability placements while developing the technical and client-facing skills needed for long-term career growth.

This team is located in Hamilton, NJ working a hybrid model.

What will your job entail?

What You'll Do

  • Support brokers throughout the new business and renewal process
  • Prepare marketing submissions, quote comparisons, proposals, and client materials
  • Review policy documents, endorsements, audits, invoices, and coverage details for accuracy
  • Coordinate with carrier underwriters, clients, and internal stakeholders to facilitate account servicing and placement activities
  • Analyze risks, loss information, and coverage requirements to support strategic placement decisions
  • Assist with renewal strategy development and identify opportunities to enhance coverage solutions
  • Maintain accurate account information and documentation within internal systems
  • Monitor upcoming renewals, outstanding items, and policy deliverables to ensure exceptional client service
  • Develop expertise in construction and environmental insurance products, market trends, and carrier capabilities
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on delivering technical excellence and client value

What We're Looking For

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including

  • Recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Insurance professionals with approximately 1 to 7+ years of experience in brokerage, underwriting, account management, claims, or client services

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate information and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and desire to build expertise in specialty insurance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Risk Management & Insurance strongly preferred
  • Prior insurance internship or insurance-related work experience is a plus
  • Progress toward or interest in professional designations (CPCU, ARM, CISR, etc.) is encouraged
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required insurance licensing

The target salary range for this position is $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
