Priestley Primary School is named after Joseph Priestley – philosopher and teacher – who discovered oxygen and believed that education was the key to shaping the futures of both people and the world. All about the role

We would like an experienced, dynamic and ambitious teacher to join our team and lead the core subject of Maths, across the school.

If you see yourself as someone who is an exciting, motivated and inspirational leader who can help drive school improvement and take on responsibility for teaching and learning in Maths, across the school – this could be for you.

Key Responsibilities in addition to those of a class teacher

  • Develop Maths teaching across the school
  • Raise standards of pupil attainment and achievement
  • Support and develop the teaching practice of colleagues
  • Monitor and evaluate curriculum impact and pupil progress
  • Contribute to whole school strategic planning and improvement
  • Model outstanding classroom practice and professional conduct
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the Senior Leadership Team to drive school priorities and initiatives.

About You

  • A qualified primary teacher with significant experience
  • A passion for raising standards for all pupils, through the effective pedagogy of inclusive education
  • Demonstrable experience of raising school standards and leading curriculum development
  • Suitably skilled and resilient to drive school improvement and managing sustainable change.
