About The Role

Based at Brindley Park Feedlot, the Welder supports the operational efficiency and safety of the feedlot by efficiently fabricating and repairing feedlot equipment and infrastructure including cattle yards, gates, fences, bins, hoppers, and feedmill components to a high standard.

You’ll be rewarded with a base annual income between $85,000 - $95,000 plus superannuation and ongoing training and development. Day to day duties include:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, or specifications
  • Quality repair of machinery, trailers, trucks, and plant equipment
  • Measuring, cutting, and preparing metal materials.
  • Welding metal parts together using processes such as MIG, TIG, or Arc welding
  • Repairing damaged machinery, equipment, and structures
  • Inspecting finished welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintaining welding equipment and work areas
  • Following strict safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.

About you

Having obtained an AQF Certificate III and at least two years of on-the-job training or bring 3 years' experience, you'll be a self-motivated, positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with an unwavering commitment to safety, along with:

  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Extensive knowledge of metal types and welding techniques
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to working safely
  • Sound numeracy and literacy skills
  • Appreciation of quality and compliance processes
  • Sound computer literacy and keyboard skills

You'll also be physically fit in order to safely undertake physical aspects of this role.
