About the Role

The People Advisor plays an important role in supporting the delivery of people services across our Contract Logistics operations. Working closely with People Partners, site leaders, and employees, this role provides day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, performance management, employee engagement, workforce reporting, and recruitment.

As a trusted first point of contact for managers and employees, the People Advisor will help ensure consistent application of HR policies, support a positive employee experience, and contribute to key HR initiatives and projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and is looking to build broad HR generalist experience.

This role will be based in Derrimut or Tullamarine .

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle matters.
  • Provide guidance and support on topics including leave, performance management, employee benefits, payroll-related queries, HR systems, and company policies.
  • Support employee onboarding, transfers, and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and perform HR transactions in Workday and other HR systems.
  • Ensure HR data quality, compliance, and documentation are maintained to a high standard.
  • Support managers in navigating HR processes and promoting compliance with company policies and employment legislation.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities for frontline and operational roles, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and support timely hiring outcomes.
  • Monitor recruitment activity, maintain candidate records, and provide updates on hiring progress.
  • Support workforce planning activities and talent pipelines to meet operational needs.

Employee Engagement & Projects

  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement, recognition, wellbeing, and communication initiatives.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing employee experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the rollout of HR programs, organizational changes, and people-related initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency through technology and LEAN methodologies.

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate and administer learning and development programs, including scheduling training sessions, managing enrolments, and maintaining training records.
  • Support onboarding and induction programs to ensure new employees have a positive learning experience.
  • Maintain learning management systems (LMS) and ensure employee training records are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor completion of mandatory and compliance training and follow up with employees and managers where required.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare regular HR reports, dashboards, and workforce insights to support business decision-making.
  • Analyze HR data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and support people-related initiatives.
  • Support audits, compliance activities, and reporting requirements as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Recruitment, or a related field in the Australian market
  • Exposure to multiple HR disciplines, including employee lifecycle administration, employee relations, HR operations, or recruitment.
  • Strong interest in developing a career as an HR Generalist.
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or other operational environments is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and customer-focused approach.
  • Experience using HR systems (Workday experience preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
