About The Role
- The job entails developing and implementing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the operations of the company.
- Manage and lead a team of buyers and other purchasing staff, providing guidance on procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders as needed to meet demand.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the procurement process to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement procurement best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including negotiating favorable terms and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Proven experience in strategic procurement and supplier relationship management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Master degree desirable
- 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Good English communications skills – written & verbal.
- Strong project-management skills.
- Computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft-Office suite
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
- The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
- Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits
- Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Travel to different office or plants locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
