Principal Software Engineer (Backend) - Remote

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with 7–8 years of experience to lead the design and development of scalable full-stack products, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence using modern AI-powered development practices.

Requirements

• 7–8 years of software engineering experience primarily with backend.
• Must be currently working in a product-based company.
• Experience in a B2B SaaS company is strongly preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development.
• Proficiency in NodeJS, Typescript, and Python.
• Experience designing and building scalable web applications.
• Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered developer tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and collaborate across Product, Design, and Business teams.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Startup experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
• Lead architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices.
• Develop modern frontend applications using React.js.
• Build scalable backend services using Node.js and Python.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity.
• Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and career development.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Manage technical priorities, stakeholder expectations, and project delivery.
• Continuously improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
