The Opportunity

As the ICT Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of ICT systems across a complex project and operational environment. This pivotal role combines technical leadership with commercial acumen, ensuring technology solutions are delivered effectively, align with business objectives, and provide long-term value.

You will lead the planning, deployment, and optimisation of ICT infrastructure while overseeing financial management, budgeting, and cost control to support sustainable and efficient operations.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, project teams, vendors, and subcontractors, you will drive the successful mobilisation and demobilisation of ICT services across multiple sites, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and aligned with corporate governance standards.

You will play a key role in managing evolving business and project requirements, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable technology solutions that support operational excellence and organisational growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of ICT infrastructure and services across multiple project sites, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, aligned with corporate standards, and support business continuity.
  • Manage ICT budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and cost control activities, providing accurate financial data for tenders, projects, and operational planning while driving value-for-money outcomes from technology investments.
  • Design, implement, and support LAN/WAN networks and site-based technologies, including networking equipment, communications systems, specialised software, multifunction devices, security systems, access control, CCTV, and video conferencing solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional ICT service management by overseeing service desk operations, prioritising and resolving technical issues, performing infrastructure upgrades and security maintenance, and ensuring service levels are achieved across all sites.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors, and outsourced service providers, ensuring ICT solutions meet business needs, vendors deliver to agreed specifications and timelines, and all ICT operations comply with governance, risk, compliance, and safety requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in a senior ICT support or operations role within a complex, multi-site environment, with a strong track record of delivering infrastructure, network, and technology solutions that support business objectives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ICT planning, budgeting, and project delivery, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate stakeholders, and successfully deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Strong technical capability across network architecture, WAN environments, ICT service management, and service desk operations, coupled with excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant ICT qualifications, preferably a Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. ITIL certification, formal Project Management qualifications, and a current Driver's Licence will be highly regarded.

Please note: This role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance. As a result, applicants must be Australian Citizens at the time of application.
