Role Overview
The Senior Content Strategist, Amazon Marketplace will be responsible for independently leading content strategy and execution across a portfolio of 7–10 brands in the Beauty & Wellness categories. This role requires a deep understanding of Amazon’s content ecosystem, strong expertise in the Beauty & Wellness categories, and an understanding of the unique performance drivers that influence these shoppers.
This person will serve as the primary strategic content lead and trusted advisor for their clients—developing content roadmaps, establishing optimization priorities, leading new product and seasonal launch strategies, and developing scalable approaches for complex and high-SKU catalogs. They will be expected to translate brand strategy, consumer insights, SEO opportunities, and performance data into proactive creative strategies that elevate brand storytelling and drive measurable marketplace performance.
This role is highly collaborative and cross-functional, partnering closely with Design, SEO, Performance Marketing, Insights, and Brand Strategy teams to create content that not only meets aesthetic and brand standards, but also improves discoverability, conversion, and revenue growth.
As a senior member of the Content Strategy team, this person will operate with a high degree of autonomy, help refine team processes, mentor junior team members, and contribute to building best-in-class creative frameworks and marketplace playbooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently own end-to-end content strategy and execution for a portfolio of 7–10 marketplace accounts across Beauty & Wellness brands, serving as the primary strategic content lead and advisor to clients.
- Develop and maintain strategic content roadmaps aligned with client objectives, business priorities, seasonal moments, new product launches, and evolving marketplace opportunities.
- Lead creative strategy across Amazon PDPs, A+ Content, Brand Stores, Bundles, and Ad Creatives (SP, SPV, SBAs, SBVs, DSP), translating brand strategy, performance data, SEO insights, customer feedback, and marketplace trends into actionable recommendations.
- Develop scalable content frameworks and prioritization strategies for complex and high-SKU catalogs, balancing hero products, variants, newness, seasonal priorities, and long-tail optimization opportunities.
- Lead content strategy for new product launches, establishing marketplace content requirements, priorities, timelines, and post-launch optimization plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct regular content audits and analyze marketplace performance to identify gaps and optimization opportunities, leveraging a variety of proprietary and third-party tools, performance data, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform and validate creative decisions.
- Develop and execute testing and optimization roadmaps, including A/B and multivariate testing, and translate performance results, consumer insights, and cross-account learnings into clear next-step recommendations.
- Partner closely with Design, SEO, Performance Marketing, Insights, and Brand Strategy to drive alignment, navigate competing priorities, and ensure content meets brand, performance, marketplace, and applicable FDA/FTC requirements.
- Lead the content portion of MBRs, QBRs, and other strategic client presentations, translating creative performance and marketplace insights into clear recommendations and future initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve and scale content development through AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, automation, templates, and emerging technologies while maintaining a high standard of strategic and creative quality.
- Mentor Content Strategists and Coordinators, providing strategic guidance and support on complex content challenges.
- Help develop and refine team-wide frameworks, processes, playbooks, and best practices, sharing emerging trends and cross-account learnings that elevate the broader Content Strategy function.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in ecommerce content strategy, marketplace strategy, or creative development, ideally with significant exposure to Beauty and/or Wellness brands.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading content strategy across multiple complex marketplace accounts in a fast-paced agency, aggregator, or similar environment.
- Proven expertise developing and optimizing Amazon content, including PDPs, A+ Content, Brand Stores, imagery, and copy, with proficiency in Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central.
- Experience developing scalable content strategies for large or complex product catalogs, including product families, variations, shades, and frequent new product launches.
- Strong understanding of content-performance analytics and consumer insights, with the ability to translate data and learnings into strategic content recommendations and ongoing optimization opportunities.
- Familiarity with marketplace SEO, AEO, and GEO principles and how they inform content strategy, discoverability, and the evolving digital shelf.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing A/B testing strategies, using results to inform creative decisions, optimization roadmaps, and broader content learnings.
- Experience leveraging a variety of proprietary and third-party marketplace, consumer research, testing, and analytics tools to inform content strategy and optimization.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT, with demonstrated experience leveraging AI-assisted workflows to scale content strategy, research, briefing, and optimization while maintaining a high standard of strategic and creative quality.
- Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to independently navigate multiple clients, deadlines, and competing business priorities.
- Excellent presentation, collaboration, and communication skills, with demonstrated experience leading client conversations, influencing stakeholders, and working effectively across creative and performance-focused teams.
- Experience navigating allowable claims frameworks for regulated categories, including FDA/FTC compliance within Beauty & Wellness.
- Experience mentoring junior team members, providing strategic guidance and feedback, and contributing to broader team development and best practices.

SALARY - $85,000 - $110,000
