What you'll do
Accounting, Group Consolidation & Reporting

- Work with finance / accounting team and external advisors on improving and running Hypersonica’s accounting processes
- -
- Define and document month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure a reliable, repeatable close across all entities
- -
- Prepare / oversee statutory accounts for the German entity (HGB) and support audit process
- -
- Run the monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation, including full intercompany elimination
- -
- Support with hands-on bookkeeping tasks (prepare invoices for external bookkeeping)
Tax Compliance & Coordination
- -
- Oversee tax compliance for German entity, coordinating with external advisors
- -
- Operate and document the intercompany transfer-pricing arrangements, and maintain contemporaneous TP documentation
- -
- Support corporate tax coordination, including monitoring of loss-carryforward positions and correct treatment of GWG / AfA in the German entity
Controlling & Management Reporting

- Support on building the controlling function from the ground up: cost-centre and cost-carrier accounting, including the setup of respective structures in SAP CO
- -
- Establish project controlling for R&D programmes and government contracts — cost attribution, WIP tracking, and margin analysis at the programme level
- -
- Support budgeting and forecasting across the entity, consolidated, and cash-flow layers; partner with FP&A on the annual budget and rolling forecasts
ERP / SAP & Process

- Support SAP implementation, migration, and FI/CO module extension projects in coordination with other functions

- Drive process automation and continuous improvement within the ERP environment
Export Control & Trade Compliance

Serve as the finance and accounting interface to export control: ensure that invoicing, revenue recognition, and shipment/milestone workflows are aligned with export-licence status under the German AWV/AWG framework, EU dual-use rules, and UK export controls

Flag transactions with export-control or end-use sensitivity for review, working with legal / compliance ownership of the licensing process itself
Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering

- Work directly with senior stakeholders to create transparency and build out Hypersonica's process landscape

- Support the Director Finance and Strategic Finance team on due-diligence processes, fundraising data rooms, and board-level financial reporting
- Who you are
- -
- You are a finance generalist with a strong fundament in accounting and/or controlling
- -
- Significant experience (7+ years) in a (group) accounting or financial controller role, ideally in a setting spanning multiple legal entities
- A degree in business administration, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerberater, ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- -
- You are willing to challenge the status quo and bring forward own experience and best practices

- Hands-on SAP experience required (FI & CO module minimum)
- -
- Solid technical knowledge of HGB; IFRS familiarity required, UK GAAP a plus
- -
- Working knowledge of corporate tax and VAT in at least Germany
- -
- German speaker, working proficiency in English
