We're looking for an experienced Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our team in Toowoomba , operating our mobile hose van to provide expert hydraulic hose manufacturing, assembly, installation and customer support services that keep our customers operating safely and efficiently. This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday role.

What you'll be doing

As a Hydraulic Hose Technician at Hastings Deering, you will

  • Support customer requirements – coordinate and liaise with customers to ensure all hydraulic hose and parts requirements are met efficiently and professionally.
  • Build quality hose assemblies – manufacture and assemble fluid hoses to Caterpillar specifications and quality standards.
  • Remove and install hose assembl ies – qualified and experienced to safely remove and install hose assemblies from equipment to a high quality standard.
  • Respond to urgent and planned work – process customer requests and purchase orders for both breakdown support and scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Afterhours response – Be available to attend to customer breakdowns on an on call basis.
  • Maintain operational readiness – ensure the hose van remains in safe working condition and promptly report any defects.
  • Follow contamination control standards – adhere to Caterpillar contamination control procedures and quality requirements at all times .
  • Deliver accurate administration – complete timecards, parts requests, quotations, paperwork and invoicing accurately and in a timely manner .
  • Build strong relationships – develop collaborative working relationships with customers and teammates to achieve positive outcomes.

What you'll need

A successful teammate will have experience in

  • Relevant technical experience – trade qualifications in a mechanical or technical field with hydraulic hose assembly experience highly desirable.
  • Licence ready – current MR Driver's Licence is essential.
  • Customer focused mindset – demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building strong customer relationships.
  • Hydraulic knowledge – ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics is desirable.
  • Industry experience – proven experience working in a similar hydraulic, mechanical, workshop, or field service environment.
  • Systems and process awareness – experience using CAT WebSIS 2.0, Microsoft Dynamics AX, or similar business systems is desirable.
  • Safety and reliability focused – physically fit, highly conscientious, and committed to safe work practices and quality outcomes.
