About The Role

  • Salary package: $112,550 - $120,621 (A.6-A.8) per annum plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years
  • Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The role

We are seeking a Postdoc toral Fellow, to join our category theory group. This position is associated with Dr. Jean-Simon Pacaud Lemay's AFOSR grant FA9550-24-1-0008. As such, the successful applicant will work in the area of differential categories, tangent categories, and other category theory related topics, whether th is be for mathematics (such as for differential geometry, algebraic geometry, etc.) or for computer science (such as machine learning, linear logic, etc.).

While the position start date is flexible, the successful applicant must have completed their PhD prior to commencing the role. The position can commence at any time during 2027, with the appointment being for a period of two years from the successful applicant’s commencement date.

About you (Selection Criteria)

  • PhD (or soon completed a PhD) in mathematics, computer science, or related areas.
  • Research experience in, related to, or applications of category theory.
