About The Role

JOB OVERVIEW

The Associate Manager -Brazil supports Universal Products & Experiences’ LATAM licensing business. Reporting to LATAM Vice President, this role supports the Brazilian Market, operated through our in-market agent Spectrum.  This position will be the front facing for the Agent and their best internal ambassador, helping with internal negotiations, ensuring nimble business management and allowing the agent to capitalize all opportunities in Market.   Core responsibilities include managing licensee relationships, conducting financial analysis, and internally presenting new business opportunities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver retail and product objectives. The ideal candidate has experience in brand strategy, licensing, and retail landscape knowledge, with a proactive approach to driving category growth and revenue goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day agent partnerships, ensuring programs align with property objectives and drive revenue.
  • Evaluate initial licensing agreements presented by agents and support process all the way through execution.
  • Partner with Contract Ops, Legal, and cross-functional teams to streamline contract processes and ensure timely approvals.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Retail Sales, Franchise, and Marketing to ensure Agent has everything needed to deliver compelling product lines and enhance brand presence across retail channels.
  • Lead financial forecasting and track ongoing business performance.
  • Leverage information, trends and best practices from other markets as well as the competitive landscape and market trends to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Leverage retail insights to optimize product placement and licensing strategies across key channels.
  • Cultivate strong internal relationships to explore cross-category opportunities and maximize collaboration.
  • Partner with each one of the Category managers to understand the business strategy and the make sure that agent in market is aligned with LATAM’s business goals. 
  • Share franchise objectives and business priorities to make sure that agent is contributing and executing against them in Brazil.
  • Proactively identify innovative processes and/or new WOW to improve speed to market.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3+ years in licensing, ideally with in NBCUniversal. 
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities across internal teams and external partners.
  • Quick thinker, solution driven and “Can be done” attitude needed to overcome obstacles as they present. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with adaptability and attention to detail.
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience with departments such as Legal, Marketing, Product Development, and Retail Sales.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Solid understanding of licensing, retail, and product development processes, including merchandise planning and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in contract review and negotiation of key business terms.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with market trend analysis skills to inform business decisions.
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables), financial reporting and forecasting; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Apple Keynote.
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
