QC Inspector, Painting

About The Role

  • Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and quality procedures.
  • Inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting and protective coating activities.
  • Verify surface cleanliness, profile, ambient conditions, paint mixing, application method, wet-film thickness and dry-film thickness.
  • Inspect coating repairs, touch-ups, holiday testing and final acceptance.
  • Verify paint materials, batch numbers, expiry dates, storage conditions and manufacturer certificates.
  • Inspect HVAC ductwork, supports, dampers, insulation, equipment installation and piping.
  • Check installation of AHUs, FCUs, ventilation fans, package units and other HVAC equipment.
  • Verify duct dimensions, alignment, joint sealing, pressure testing and air-leakage testing.
  • Witness flushing, pressure testing, testing, balancing and commissioning activities.
  • Raise inspection requests and coordinate inspections with the client and consultant.
  • Issue NCRs for non-conforming work and monitor corrective actions until closure.
  • Maintain inspection reports, test records, calibration certificates and quality dossiers.
  • Ensure measuring and testing equipment has valid calibration.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, subcontractor and HSE teams.
  • Ensure work complies with project safety and quality requirements.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of QC inspection experience in oil and gas, EPC or industrial projects.
  • Relevant experience in painting/coating and HVAC inspection.
  • UAE and ADNOC project experience is preferred.
  • BGAS, NACE/AMPP or equivalent coating certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO, SMACNA, ASHRAE and project-specific standards.
  • Ability to read HVAC drawings, P&IDs, layouts, specifications and inspection documents.
  • Good communication, reporting and coordination skills.
