About The Role
POLITICO is looking for a Talent Acquisition Consultant to join our pioneering and growing media company on a three-month consulting assignment, working three days per week and starting immediately.
This is an opportunity to make a visible contribution at an important moment in POLITICO’s growth. You will work across a varied portfolio of roles, from editorial and commercial to technology and corporate functions, partnering with teams in Brussels, London, Paris and Berlin. No two searches will be quite the same, and you will have the opportunity to explore new candidate markets, engage hard-to-reach talent and help shape how we grow our teams across Europe.
As part of our European Talent Acquisition team and the wider Global HR Department, you will play a central role in delivering a thoughtful, well-organized and high-quality recruitment experience. You will act as an ambassador for POLITICO’s culture and values, bringing both strategic thinking and hands-on energy to a fast-moving international environment.
Who You Are
- You are an experienced recruiter who enjoys taking on challenging searches and finding creative ways to reach the right people.
- You combine strong full-cycle recruitment expertise with sound judgment, curiosity and a practical, hands-on approach.
- You are confident partnering with hiring managers and editors, asking the right questions and translating business needs into effective recruitment strategies.
- You communicate clearly, build trust quickly and are comfortable engaging with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
- You are highly organized and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining momentum and attention to detail.
- You are adaptable, discreet and comfortable working in a fast-changing, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- You are genuinely interested in working in an international media organization — and you bring a good sense of humor.
What You’ll Do
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from initial briefing and sourcing through interviews, offer and onboarding.
- Partner with managers and editors to understand current and future hiring needs and agree clear, effective recruitment approaches.
- Use networking, social media, direct sourcing and other creative techniques to identify, attract and engage qualified candidates.
- Screen and interview candidates, prepare strong and balanced shortlists, and keep searches moving within agreed timelines.
- Create a positive, thoughtful and consistent candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Build and maintain focused, manageable talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill roles.
- Communicate proactively with candidates and stakeholders, providing clear updates and managing expectations.
What You’ll Need

- Excellent organization, prioritization, negotiation and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound professional judgment and a high level of discretion.
- Comfort with technology, web-based tools and learning new systems quickly.

About Us
POLITICO illuminates the forces shaping global power. Since 2007, we have delivered intelligence that anticipates tomorrow's headlines, not reports on yesterday's news. As politics has increasingly become the defining force of our era, our work has never been more vital.
Cabinet secretaries and Ministers start their mornings with our analysis. CEOs shape strategy around our reporting. Advocacy leaders rely on our insights to move policy. We deliver the straightforward facts and clear-eyed analysis they need to navigate the most complex political landscape of our lifetimes.
Our 1,100+ publishing professionals across the world's key democratic capitals—Washington, Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Sacramento, and New York—form the world's premier politics and policy newsroom. We tell the story of how power really works by explaining who wields it and how they plan to exercise it, connecting dots others miss and delivering scoops from sources others don't even know exist.
Innovation has always been a core tenet of our story. At launch, we bet that depth would trump scale, that talent would trump traffic, and that politics would become central to modern life. In 2011, we made another bet and launched POLITICO Pro to help decision-makers understand the business of government, transforming both how they shape government action and the business of journalism itself.
These bets have made POLITICO the most successful digital news startup of its generation and the indispensable resource for leaders who shape the future. Today, we are a rarity in media: a growing, profitable, and sustainable news organization.
POLITICO is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE, a family-owned transatlantic media company headquartered in Berlin and New York. Axel Springer is dedicated to shaping the future of journalism in the free world, believing that a free and informed society is essential to democracy. The company’s guiding principles - first articulated as The Essentials by founder Axel Springer in the aftermath of World War II - remain a cornerstone of the company’s foundation today.
