About The Role

Mediix is partnering with an established multidisciplinary private practice in Melbourne's northern suburbs to appoint a Speech Pathologist to their growing team. What sets this role apart: you choose the caseload that suits you. Whether you want to build a paediatric caseload, focus on adults, or work across both, the practice will shape the role around your clinical strengths and the areas you want to grow into.

This is a fully clinic-based position — no driving between schools or client homes, no community travel — with a warm, collegial team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and allied health support staff working out of a modern, purpose-designed clinic.

About the role

You'll build your own caseload from the practice's steady referral base. Depending on your preference, that might look like:

  • Paediatrics — early language delay, ASD, DLD, articulation and phonology, fluency, AAC, school-age literacy and social communication
  • Adults — acquired communication disorders, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication and dysphagia
  • Mixed — a genuine blend across ages, if variety is what you're after

Day to day, you will

  • Complete comprehensive assessments and formulate clear clinical impressions
  • Develop individualised, evidence-based therapy plans
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions in clinic, with group work where clinically indicated
  • Collaborate closely with the in-house MDT on shared clients
  • Partner with families, carers and support workers through coaching and education
  • Maintain clinical documentation and complete NDIS, Medicare and DVA reporting as required
  • Contribute to team case reviews, in-house PD and peer discussion

What our client offers

  • Above-award remuneration, negotiable on experience
  • Generous CPD budget, paid study leave and in-house learning sessions
  • Structured clinical supervision — genuine mentoring for early-career SPs, and peer support for senior clinicians
  • A caseload built around your clinical interests, not simply handed to you
  • Fully clinic-based work — predictable hours, no travel time between clients
  • Admin, intake and NDIS billing support so your day stays clinical
  • Real flexibility — 0.6–1.0 FTE, compressed weeks and school-hours arrangements all considered
  • Modern, well-resourced clinic with a full assessment and therapy library
  • Employee Assistance Program and a low-turnover, supportive team culture
  • Easy access by car and public transport, with on-site parking

About you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • New graduates with strong placement experience are warmly encouraged to apply — structured new-grad support is in place
  • Experienced SPs seeking a stable, well-run practice equally welcome
  • Strong clinical reasoning, documentation and interpersonal skills
  • Working with Children Check (VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening
  • Current Victorian driver's licence preferred
