As the go-to destination for breaking stories, exclusive scoops, and viral moments, Page Six has grown far beyond its print roots to become a dynamic, multi-platform brand that reaches millions of readers daily across web, social, and video.

We are seeking a knowledgeable Associate Editor to join the Page Six digital team. The ideal candidate is a sharp, savvy editor with an instinct for what makes a compelling story and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom. This role is ideal for an experienced journalist who can confidently lead coverage, make quick editorial decisions, and identify opportunities to grow audience engagement across platforms. The Associate Editor will play a key role in shaping Page Six’s daily news coverage, from breaking celebrity news and trending stories to original reporting and SEO-driven content.

Note: the schedule for this role is Sun-Thurs, 4pm-12am EST.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and edit multiple stories per day from a team of writers and reporters
  • Write daily SEO-optimized news stories with speed, efficiency and clean copy
  • Think strategically about the daily entertainment news cycle and pitch stories to move topics forward
  • Be a self-starter and feel confident in making decisions and working independently, particularly at night
  • Use traffic analytics (Google Analytics, Parse.ly, etc.) to help guide coverage and determine successes
  • Think quickly on their feet and operate efficiently in breaking news situations
  • Work with social, video, photo, and other departments seamlessly to enhance news coverage

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of digital newsroom experience as both a writer and editor
  • Exceptional editing, writing and reporting skills
  • Understanding of media law and reporting on sensitive issues
  • Deep understanding of celebrities and trending entertainment topics
  • Strong news judgment and ability to craft enticing, SEO-optimized headlines
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and social trends
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced online news environment
  • Experience using content management systems and web analytics tools
  • Flexibility in covering holidays, live pop culture events (i.e. Oscars, Super Bowl, etc.) and working outside business hours when needed

Note: The New York Post adheres to an on-site work model. NYC-based candidates will be expected to report into the office 5 days per week. Also open to LA-based candidates.
