JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position coordinates marketing, communications, and promotional activities that support the mission of the Indian River State College Foundation. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator coordinates with marketing department, graphic designers, web designers and other vendors to develops and distributes marketing materials, coordinates digital communications, assists with fundraising campaigns and special events, and helps communicate the impact of philanthropy to donors, alumni, and the community.
Working collaboratively with Foundation staff, College departments, and external vendors, this position manages multiple marketing projects simultaneously while ensuring consistent branding, timely communications, and high-quality deliverables that support fundraising and donor engagement.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate marketing and communications projects from concept through completion while managing multiple deadlines.
- Develop, edit, and distribute newsletters, donor communications, email campaigns, brochures, event materials, presentations, and other Foundation publications.
- Create and schedule content for Foundation social media platforms and assist with digital engagement initiatives.
- Update Foundation website content and coordinate website revisions as needed.
- Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of Foundation events, donor recognition activities, and fundraising campaigns.
- Coordinate production of printed materials by working with vendors, printers, photographers, and graphic designers.
- Gather stories, photographs, and content highlighting student success, donor impact, scholarships, and Foundation initiatives.
- Maintain Foundation branding standards across marketing materials and communications.
- Draft press releases, announcements, invitations, and promotional materials.
- Utilize Asana to coordinate marketing calendars and communication schedules.
- Work with Marketing to report on report basic marketing metrics including website traffic, email performance, and social media engagement.
- Maintain marketing files, photo libraries, templates, and digital assets.
- Collaborate with Foundation staff, College departments, alumni, and community partners to support Foundation initiatives.
- Assist with budget tracking and invoice processing for marketing projects.
- Complete other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional marketing, communications, public relations, or related experience. Internship experience may be considered.
- Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing social media platforms for an organization.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software preferred.
- Experience with project management systems, Asana preferred.
- Experience with website content management systems, Word Press preferred.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp preferred.
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT or other CRM systems preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, donors, volunteers, community partners, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
