About The Role

​Bring your energy to Aggreko as an Industrial Field Technician based in Houston, TX .

You’ll support temporary cooling tower solutions primarily at refineries and heavy industrial facilities. Technician supports the full project lifecycle, including equipment installation/setup, ongoing maintenance and repair while deployed, and equipment decommissioning/teardown.

What you'll do as an Industrial Field Technician

  • Significant pipe fitting, piping and hose hookup
  • Installation/setup of temporary cooling tower equipment
  • Pumps and motors – installation, maintenance, repair/replacement and rotation checks
  • Basic industrial electrical work/troubleshooting; approximately electrician-apprentice level
  • Cooling tower equipment maintenance and inspection
  • Supporting heat exchanger and chiller hookups through piping/hoses; not heavy HVAC/chiller repair
  • Equipment testing and preparation
  • Manual valve operation and other physically demanding field work
  • Equipment teardown/decommissioning after project completion
  • Daily jobsite safety and inventory responsibilities

You are

  • Comfortable working outdoors/onsite in industrial environments and handling heavy equipment/components. Some manual valves weigh approximately 120 lbs. and require appropriate team/mechanical handling.
  • 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial construction, refinery/petrochemical work, pipe fitting, millwright/mechanical work, industrial maintenance, pump service, field service, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Cooling tower experience is valuable but candidates with transferable mechanical/electrical skills should also be considered.

  • Manlift/aerial lift certification/experience
  • Refinery/heavy industrial experience

Other essential job requirements

  • Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
  • Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
  • Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
  • · Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
  • Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel and squat
