About The Role

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic inspections of industrial mission-critical power equipment to ensure compliance with company standards, engineering specifications, customer requirements, and applicable codes. Equipment may include switchboards, UPS systems, enclosures, skids, FCUs, fire systems, and transformers .

This role documents defects, tracks corrective actions, verifies controlled documents and inspection checklists, and partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Field Service to resolve issues and maintain project schedules. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in industrial manufacturing, with knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 508A, and NEC . Travel to manufacturing and customer sites may be required.

Accountabilities

  • Be responsible for all key inspection points and areas of all components, assemblies, units, and systems of the MCPU.  
  • Track and document all defects accordingly.  
  • Communicate with the appropriate personnel to ensure proper follow-ups.  
  • Coordinate timelines to address issues within target ship dates.  
  • Update issues and status pertaining to the equipment for the MCPU.  
  • Must be familiar with UL891, UL1558, UL67, UL508A, NEC, industrial power distribution construction and manufacturing.  
  • Ensure that quality checklists are completed, as each step is completed.  
  • Be familiar with basic tools and equipment.  
  • Verify all controlled documents.  
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by wearing PPE and complying with procedures, company policies, rules, and regulations.  
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification in quality-based background.
  • 5+ years of Quality experience required – preferably in a manufacturing or industrial construction industry. Experience using calibrated inspection and testing tools preferred. Experience with CX platforms.  
  • Knowledge of inspection methods.  
  • Understanding of the manufacturing industry.  
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace. Including experience with safety regulations and necessary PPE requirements.  
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and designs.  
  • Accustomed to standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, and working within tight spaces for the duration of the shift.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.  
  • Skilled at managing time and tasks independently.  
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized environment, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.  
  • Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment that requires the employee to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb steps/ladders throughout an 8-to-10-hour day.  
  • Strength to carry product, equipment, and tools up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
