About The Role

Role Purpose

The Physical Security Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, standardizing, and scaling end‑to‑end physical security solutions for complex, mission‑critical data center environments.

This role bridges client requirements, operational delivery, and security technology , ensuring solutions are risk‑based, compliant, scalable, and commercially viable . The Solutions Architect acts as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, translating business and risk requirements into integrated security architectures that combine guarding, technology, intelligence, and processes .

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design integrated physical security solutions combining:
  • On‑site and mobile guarding
  • Access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection
  • Remote monitoring, alarm response, and intelligence capabilities
  • Evolving and new technologies
  • Develop site‑specific and program‑level security architectures for data centers, construction sites, and critical infrastructure.
  • Ensure solutions are fit‑for‑purpose , scalable across regions, and aligned with client security standards and threat profiles.
  • Support costing & estimating engineers by developing, providing, and collaborating on bill of materials, scope of work, presales device placement drawings and subcontractor collaboration
  • Assists in the preparation of sales proposals by providing pertinent technical information and reviews proposals for technical accuracy and adherence to product standards

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support the Data Center Group, and internal and external stakeholders with technology related questions, requests, and subject matter expertise.
  • Act as a technical and security authority in client discussions, workshops, and solution reviews.
  • Support complex pursuits, RFPs, and contract transformations , providing solution narratives, diagrams, and cost logic.
  • Partner with Global Clients Technology, Data Center Group, and Country and Regional teams to ensure consistent solution delivery .

Standards, Governance & Compliance

  • Define and maintain solution blueprints, reference architectures, and design standards .
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Client security requirements
  • Industry standards (ISO, SOC, data center frameworks)
  • Local regulatory and labor constraints
  • Support audits, assessments, and post‑incident reviews from a design perspective.

Technology & Innovation

  • Evaluate and integrate security technologies (e.g., access control, video analytics, temporary/mobile solutions).
  • Identify opportunities to replace or augment guarding with technology to improve effectiveness and margin.
  • Identify gaps in technology offerings and proactively engage stakeholders to develop key partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Securitas Technology / GCT and approved partners to ensure solutions are supportable and standardized.
  • Support the field teams by selecting standard technology across installations. Where necessary, this includes supporting field installations with understanding of design and solution
  • Provide insight and assist in the process of creating advanced plans when customers are migrating or implementing new technology. This includes technology selection, and project planning
  • Support sales with technology related questions or scope. Help them understand what solution and strategy is required to accomplish a job, specification requirement and to win. This includes attending meetings, walk throughs and scope reviews

Commercial & Operational Alignment

  • Ensure solutions are operationally deliverable and financially sustainable.
  • Provide input into pricing logic, staffing models, and transition plans.
  • Support contract mobilizations and transformations from a design and architecture standpoint .
  • Assist in Securitas events, and external tradeshow, such as, but not limited to GSX, ISC, etc.

  • Adoption of standardized architectures across regions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, or equivalent
  • Data center or critical infrastructure security credentials preferred
  • 8–12+ years in physical security design , security consulting, or security technology environments
  • Experience in designing Electronic Security systems (Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), CCTV/ VMS (Video Management System, Visitor Management Systems, Intercom Systems)
  • Detailed knowledge of integrated electronic security solutions and design
  • Some knowledge of Fire Alarm & Life Safety Code
  • Working knowledge of Computer Systems & Networking
  • Ability to read & interpret electronic security specifications, perform equipment counts (take off’s). Identify cable requirements & distances, as well as calculate power load & battery calculations.
  • Demonstrated experience designing solutions for data centers, critical infrastructure, and large, multi-site or global clients
  • Proven ability to operate at C‑suite / client executive level while remaining grounded in operational reality
  • Experience working across sales, operations, and technology teams
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, structured solutions
  • Consultative sales experience (preferred)
  • Field Applications experience (preferred)
  • Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) and Global Security Operations Centers (GSOC) experience preferred
  • Bluebeam and Visio experience preferred
  • Knowledge of high security credentials such as iClass/DESFire & Personal Identity Verification (PIV/FICAM).
  • Understanding / Certification with UL (681 & 2050) & High Security applications/systems.
  • Knowledge of Structured cabling / BICSI Certification / EIA/TIA-568.
  • Understanding of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) code (Specifically in your assigned area) / NICET Certified.

  • Willingness to travel across the Americas and internationally as required (approximately 25–30%).
