About The Role

The Corporate Accounting and Consolidation Analyst for Global Industrial supports the accounting for corporate expenses, assets, and liabilities and executes the global consolidation process. The position partners closely with HR/Benefits, Risk Management, Legal, SEC Reporting, Tax, subsidiaries, Internal Audit, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting

  • Prepare accruals and perform other month-end close activities for HR/Benefits, Risk Management, Legal, and Treasury functions.
  • Prepare journal entries for share-based compensation, dividends, and intercompany allocations.
  • Perform trend and variance analysis as needed for close and forecast.

Consolidation

  • Execute the consolidation process to eliminate intercompany activity and balances accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis to detect and interpret unusual or significant fluctuations in account balances.
  • Partner with IT for subsidiary ledger load, translation, and other system processes.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly controls.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes as needed.
  • Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors for audit requests.

Special Projects

  • Support enterprise-wide finance initiatives and special projects.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Audit experience
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft
  • Experience with IBM Planning Analytics
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands / Working Environment

  • Primarily office-based in a professional, climate-controlled setting
  • Extended computer use
  • Requires sustained concentration, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 25 pounds)
  • On-site presence required four (4) days per week; one (1) remote day permitted based on business needs
  • Minimal travel (less than 5%); occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end or year-end close).
  • Work Location: Atlanta, Georgia OR Birmingham, Alabama
