About The Role

About the team

Studio Z, Zillow's in-house creative agency, is seeking a versatile writer and strategist to expand our Content team's capabilities. We develop engaging content that helps consumers and real estate professionals achieve their goals — from in-depth articles to snappy email copy to video scripts and social posts. We embody the Zillow core values of transparency, integrity, and putting customers first. To thrive here, you'll also need a good dose of empathy and a sense of humor.

About the role

This role will craft accurate, compelling content across a wide range of formats: longform articles, shortform web and email copy, and video scripts — both short product showcase videos and longer educational pieces. You'll serve as a thought partner to your Marketing colleagues, helping shape how content can best support our audiences and business goals. Then, working with designers and other creatives, you'll bring your ideas to life as polished, brand-aligned assets. Whatever the format, your sharp, thoughtful writing will inform, engage, and inspire our audiences to work with Zillow.

Because this role is based in Mexico and serves a US-based audience, it requires exceptional English writing and speaking ability — the kind that comes naturally and produces polished, publication-ready copy without heavy editing. Native or near-native fluency is required.

You'll get to

  • Work across a wide range of content formats — articles, emails, social posts, web copy, and video scripts — to tell stories that resonate with Zillow's consumer and professional audiences.
  • Partner with Marketing colleagues to understand strategic goals and advise on how content can best support them.
  • Go deep into content creation, collaborating with a versatile Studio team to produce high-quality pieces at a range of lengths and formats.
  • Build understanding and empathy for the challenges facing Americans who are looking to buy, sell, and rent homes in a complex market — and for the hard-working industry professionals who support them.
  • Draw on internal research, expert interviews, and external sources to bring stories to life.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City, as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Who you are

  • A versatile content creator who can move fluidly between longform editorial, tight email and web copy, and engaging video scripts.
  • A curious, diligent writer who can learn the nuances of Zillow's products and services and distill them into clear, compelling stories.
  • A strategic problem solver who understands content performance metrics and insights, and use them to optimize your work and communicate its value.
  • A meticulous editor who can serve as the last set of eyes on a piece before it’s published.
  • A kind, fun colleague who enjoys collaborating with other creatives and learning new things while making work we can all be proud of..

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Native or near-native English fluency required. This role demands a true command of written and spoken English — candidates should be exceptional writers who can produce polished, publication-ready content across formats without heavy editing support.
  • Demonstrated expertise creating content across multiple formats (articles, email copy, video scripts, web copy, etc.).
  • Ability to produce high-quality work efficiently and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Real estate knowledge is a plus but not required.

We will consider candidates of all backgrounds who bring experience with the core duties and an eagerness to help our audiences succeed.

While this is a remote role, it will require some travel for in-person gatherings and work sessions.

To apply, please submit an application with your resume and a portfolio of copywriting work samples. Applications without work samples will not be considered.
