Paramedic Lab Technician

The lab technician will be responsible for creating a learning environment that enables students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.

Major Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned training/skills in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech.
• Shows evidence of developing and implementing active laboratory teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
• Interacts with students and coworkers in a professional and cooperative manner and complies with all college policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
• Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency safety procedures for labs and learning environments.
• This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Pay Rate: $15.00-20.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

Location : Michigan City

Schedule: Based on class schedule and candidate availability, maximum of 28 hours per week

Requirements

• Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program and holds an EMT certification or paramedic license (employee is only eligible to assist with courses at or below certification/license level).
• Has two years of directly related work experience
• Transcripts/certification copies are required at time of interview
• Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
