Production Assistant
- Classification: Temporary/Part-Time Schedule: Averaging 15-20 hours per week, with potential for more hours based upon project load.

Job Summary
Responsible to the Director of Production at BMC Creative, assisting with University production services, print operations, and serving a university-wide customer base that extends to ETSU Health clinical locations and administrative offices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience of print operations, including prepress, offset printing, wide-format, and digital press technical protocols.
- Operational knowledge and understanding of finishing equipment and processes.
- Knowledge of press schedules to meet customer demand.
- Understanding of color management systems with practical experience to include digital file preparation requirements for offset printing and digital prepress, bindery techniques, and paper stocks; with color profiling using a spectrophotometer; and of methods for gaining optimal registration.
- Knowledge of computers, both Mac and PC platforms, and current graphics processes and proprietary software, including EFI Fiery, Fusion Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office, to include the operation of associated peripherals such as flatbed and transparency scanners and high-end, wide-format poster printers.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information related to the use of high-end computer graphics software, RIP software, and hardware.
- Able to safely use production equipment, which may be hazardous. Able to safely maintain production equipment, including equipment repairs.
- Ability to understand and utilize online traffic systems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Extensive customer service experience demonstrating the ability to manage client relationships and expectations.
- Experience with digital media is desired, and its integration into print and cross-platform projects.
- Proven ability to successfully execute projects across multiple media formats with adaptability and precision.
- Ability to provide support under physical demand, such as lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to transport and deliver, to and from academic and clinical campuses, and various businesses
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree desired, preferably in Print Technology, Graphic Imaging, Industrial Management, or a related field with relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in progressively responsible roles within the printing industry.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary - $18 -$20 an hour
