Responsibilities

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) that empower students.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other specialists to create a holistic learning environment.
  • Fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels heard and valued.
  • Helping students develop crucial communication skills that enhance their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Qualifications

  • Non-Negotiable: Valid New York State Speech and Language Disabilities Certification.
  • A compassionate heart and a belief in the limitless potential of every child.
  • Innovation, patience, and a genuine passion for working with students with developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to therapy.
  • Assignment Length: This exciting opportunity is initially for 3–4 months (tentative) , with potential for extension based on need.
  • Caseload: Kindergarten through 12th grade, focusing on developmental disabilities.
