About The Role

What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Controls Manager to oversee multiple projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost analysis and schedule development during the construction phases of 5-15 concurrent projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project controls methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to

  • Manage and oversee project controls for multiple capital projects, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis, including cost estimation, forecasting, and variance analysis through the construction phase.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project control processes and reporting standards.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to senior management, highlighting potential risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Implement and maintain project control tools and software to track project progress and financial performance.
  • Facilitate project meetings to review schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, including financial performance and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master degree in Construction Science, Building Science or advanced coursework is highly preferred.

Certification: No certification is required for this position.

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in project controls, cost management, or related roles within the engineering and construction industry.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $20 million.
  • Strong self-starter that will take initiative to learn and ask questions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient in P6
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, methodologies, and industry standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
