Assistant/Analyst- Japanese Corporate Banking Department

Role: Analyst/Associate for JCIB Planning

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Support head of the development of GCIB India’s country and product strategy
  • Take a lead role for implementation of regional / country initiative & monitoring / reporting the same.

Financial

  • Develop and own a coverage plan for 2-3 sectors, map the universe of targets, promoters, PE onwed assets nearing exit and succession driven sellers
  • Run sustained proprietary outreach to promoters, CEOs, CFOs and family office principals, VCs and PEs, the expectation is a consistent volume for first meetings
  • Build and maintain an intermediary network: CA firms, law firms, PE/VC Funds, lenders, industry associations and other bankers
  • Develop sector thesis and pitch materials.
  • Monitor the department’s financial performance and assess against projected targets to ensure that the department is on track on reaching targets.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a database to track the department’s revenue and expense budget. Gathering pipelines and making financial projection. Analysis of the MUFG GC business.
  • Manage MIS and initiate periodical update/reporting inclusive of interaction with HQ & regional teams.
  • Analyze research material and develop financial models and projections to recommend new initiatives to increase business growth and present to Senior Management.
  • Working on the various growth project until execution
  • Support head and DHs/ RMs, on a transaction base, to achieve financial target. Revenue recognize etc.

Customer

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally, like MUFG Region Team(Singapore) and MUFG HQ(Tokyo).
  • Work in partnership with the overseas branches and Head Office to develop market strategies in order to promote business growth for the wider division. e.g. working on the various projects led by Region(Singapore) and HQ(Tokyo)
  • Work in partnership with the Planning department to monitor the department’s performance against targets and to determine and report balanced scorecard results.
  • Interface with local clients and JP corporates for possible business matching efforts (to collaborate with relevant departments)

People

  • Act as a role model to team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines.
  • Support, coach and guide junior team members on complex issues.

Other/ Control

  • Responsible to monitor all business risk profile and take a lead for report and resolution.
  • Support in developing and updating policies to ensure alignment with all relevant regulations.
  • Develop recommendations for continuous improvement and support implementation.
  • Support internal and external audits within the department by preparing documentation as required
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.
