Leads team and independently performs overall design, development, and integration of systems and applications to address business needs pertaining to automation, monitoring, DevOps support, container technologies, and related developer enablement capabilities (cloud and/or in-house). Creates "big picture" architectural approaches for system design and implementation to guide IT teams. Responsible for ensuring security, performance, manageability, quality, and consistency of architecture across systems and provide technical guidance to internal customers and teams. Conducts research, gathers information, interprets data, identifies requirements, and creates solutions. Defines all aspects of solution development from appropriate technology and workflow to deployment of production ready systems. Evaluates and recommends tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platforms. This role develops automation using Python and supports deployments across AWS and OpenShift. Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Terraform is preferred.
Principle Duties
- Coordinates the architecture, design, development, implementation, and integration of automation, monitoring, DevOps support, container technologies, and related developer enablement capabilities in support of IT and business objectives.
- Develops automation and application solutions using Python.
- Supports application and infrastructure deployments using Terraform across AWS and OpenShift.
- Coordinates or leads analysis of IT or business problems and lead the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements.
- Research and design best fit solutions. Guide architecture, design, deployment, and integration of solutions and ensure all quality and change control standards are met.
- Coordinates root cause investigations and provide recommendations for preventative measures. Proactively address gaps with existing support processes, documentation, etc. and prioritize accordingly.
- Develops and documents processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Provides regular status, operational , incident, and change reports.
- May supervise or manage four or fewer employees, and responsible for team's performance; coaches and mentors team members.
Qualications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience Required
- Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Preferred
Work Experience
- 8+ Years experience developing application hosting architectures and services utilizing containers, cloud services, and automation Required
Licenses and Certifications
- LOMA certification Preferred

- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects. Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines. Ability to manage multiple projects or teams and set applicable goals. Required
- Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management. Advanced negotiating and persuasion skills. Required
- Advanced knowledge of application/data security best practices, container based hosting architectures (Kubernetes), scripting languages (Python, Powershell), CI / CD platform management (Jenkins, Nexus, Sonarqube, Vault), software development practices (code management, Agile tools, automated testing), monitoring and alerting practices and toolsets (Nagios, Grafana, PagerDuty, Prometheus), and Security certifications, load balancing, DNS management. Required
- Python development experience as required
- JavaScript or TypeScript experience as preferred
- Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience as preferred
- 5+ years experience designing and deploying continuous integration environments and platforms; Experience leading or relavent understanding of Agile concepts and ceremonies preferred
- 1-5 years experience leveraging cloud platform and SaaS solutions; Working experience developing CI/CD pipelines, container-based architectures, cloud-based architectures. Preferred
- 10+ years of experience developing application hosting architectures and services utilizing containers, cloud services, and automation Preferred

Compensation Range
$107,060.00 - $159,390.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
