NOTE: Preferred candidates to be located in India. You will be required to schedule a portion of your working hours to coincide with our US-based team, specifically from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Who you are
Archipelago is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help us build and maintain a test automation framework to improve the confidence in our deployments. We’re a small engineering team distributed around the US, India, & Europe. We iterate quickly, ship every day, build for the long term, and are looking for smart, independent engineers who want to ply their trade with like-minded people.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy and maintain an automated test infrastructure for the Archipelago application that will be used to validate all aspects of the product operation
- Evaluate product functionality and create test strategies, automation frameworks and automated test cases to assess product health
- Integrate with CI/CD pipeline to establish a continuous build and test cycle
- Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to catch recurring bugs
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define upcoming product requirements and ensure testability
- Participate in defect triage, release validation, and production-quality investigations
Key Objectives & Results (OKRs) you are responsible for
- Automate 90% of manual regression tests
- End-to-end automation test for 100% of new and modified UI functionality by Platform and Productivity team
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on testing and automation
- Deep familiarity with automation frameworks. Cypress is preferred as that is our primary testing framework
- Strong experience working in Github
- Strong programming experience in JavaScript or TypeScript. React or similar frameworks are a plus
- Work independently as part of a distributed team
- Great communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Work approximately 4+ hours overlap with US time zones for collaboration
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
