[What the role is]

The mission of SFA is to ensure and secure a supply of safe food for Singapore.

The officer will be part of a dynamic team in Food Export and Fisheries Management Department to support the regulation and operations of Fisheries-related matters, such as fishing vessel management, sustainable fisheries-related controls and interagency incident-response arrangements.

[What you will be working on]

Coordinate and carry out administrative procedures relating to fisheries management, licensing, catch and trade documentation, and other fisheries related matters.
Support implementation of workstreams to deter illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, including interagency coordination on concept of operations and related follow-up actions.
Conduct and coordinate inspections, surveys and checks relating to fishing vessel management workstreams, including inspections of fishing vessels and joint investigation with relevant agencies on fisheries-related incidents.
Support the digitalisation and operational workflows of fisheries management, including system enhancements, data processes, records management, and stakeholder correspondence.
Attend, investigate and follow-up on public/industry feedback related to commercial fishing vessels and fisheries issues which may require working across various government agencies.
Assist with reviews and data analysis of data related to food supply/fisheries issues, engaging and collaborating with relevant stakeholders such as food industry, shipping agent community and other agencies, where required.
Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisor.

[What we are looking for]

Knowledge in Food Science/Food Technology/Chemistry/Life Sciences/Biology/Environmental Studies or Science-related discipline
Knowledge in IT applications will be an advantage, such as familiarity with MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel), MS Azure, Power BI
Relevant experience in managing administrative work, customer’s enquiries and feedback
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Physically fit to perform job duties which may include vessel boarding
