Role summary

We’re looking for a highly motivated Money Laundering Reporting Officer ( MLRO) who will perform a key role in risk-based Anti Money Laundering (AML) & Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and cooperate with other teams and departments The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in AML/CTF fields.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and enhance AML-related policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Support the Head of Compliance in developing the annual AML plan and risk management objectives in alignment with the Company's overall strategic goals.
  • Lead the development and optimization of AML monitoring strategies, models, rules, and risk indicators, including sanctions and watchlist screening, suspicious transaction monitoring, and customer risk rating methodologies.
  • Conduct and coordinate money laundering and terrorist financing risk assessments for new products, new business initiatives, and significant projects.
  • Review and approve high-risk customer onboarding decisions, suspicious transaction reports (STRs), and routine regulatory reports.
  • Drive the development, enhancement, and implementation of AML systems, including managing system requirements, testing, and user acceptance processes.
  • Interpret and communicate applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations; provide AML advisory support and guidance to relevant departments on KYC/CDD/EDD, customer risk rating, beneficial ownership (UBO) identification, transaction monitoring frameworks, sanctions screening, and sanctions compliance management to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Organize and conduct the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and prepare related risk assessment reports.
  • Act as daily contact person of PBOC and coordinate regulatory examinations, inspections, and assessments (both onsite and offsite), and ensure timely remediation of identified issues by relevant stakeholders.
  • Support internal AML audits and ensure timely completion of corrective actions and remediation plans.
  • Regularly report the Company's AML risk profile, key risks, and compliance status to Senior Management and the AML Steering Committee.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • At least 10 years of experience as an AML Specialist in payment institutions or banks.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, sanctions compliance, transaction monitoring methodologies, and risk-based AML controls, with proven experience in AML system design, enhancement, and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and mitigate money laundering risk.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).
