Engineering/Operations Manager
As an Engineering & Operations Manager , you'll lead the day-to-day operations of an aerospace engine test facility, ensuring repair, overhaul, remanufacturing, and testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality, customer, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will oversee production planning, resource management, continuous improvement initiatives, and team leadership to achieve operational and financial objectives.
What you'll do
- Oversee daily operations, including workforce planning, scheduling, overtime authorization, and labor cost management.
- Lead repair, overhaul, remanufacturing, and testing activities to meet customer, quality, and production requirements.
- Develop and manage annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and site expenses to achieve business objectives.
- Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to prioritize work, resolve operational issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and processes that support strategic business goals.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Finance teams to support strategic planning, labor reporting, expense tracking, and customer billing.
- Manage employee performance, staffing, coaching, safety, resource planning, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Safety Management System (SMS) requirements, export regulations, and applicable quality standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering,; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or operations environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production, operations, repair, overhaul, testing, or manufacturing.
- Experience managing production schedules, labor resources, budgets, or operational performance metrics.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) in a professional environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and operational documentation.
Desired Skills
- Aerospace engine testing or test cell operations experience.
- Experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management experience delivering operational improvements.
- Experience working directly with external customers in a production or service environment.
- Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) principles and tools.
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing planning systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
