Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Strategic Sourcing team in the role of Contract Manager. This position is full time, Monday – Friday with a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in office at our Integrated Service Center located in Plainfield, Indiana.

The Contract Manager plays a key role in supporting IU Health's supply chain strategy by partnering with sourcing leaders, suppliers, legal, and finance teams to review, negotiate, and execute contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys relationship building, problem-solving, and learning the business side of healthcare operations. The role offers exposure to high-impact initiatives, complex vendor partnerships, and large-scale contracting efforts that directly support patient care and organizational growth.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Requires 3-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires in depth knowledge of interpreting policy and ensuring adherence with contracts.
  • Requires knowledge with tracking and reporting financial risk and budgeting.
  • Requires proficiency in PSA and Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel).

Core Competencies

  • Responsible for assigned supplier contracts, including the oversight of the overall contracts management process for a category of spend.
  • Designs, implements, manages, and audits the contract administration processes for multiple types of contracts (including master agreements, non-disclosure agreements, amendments, and product and service agreements) and functions with focus on working ahead of contract expirations.
  • Utilizes the correct IU Health approved legal templates and leads agreements through the correct signature workflows with support from the Category Manager, Finance, and Legal.
  • Leads and manages contract negotiations with suppliers (with collaboration and support from the Category Manager), tracking all documents and contract redlines.
  • Leads the process of analyzing contract issues to identify and minimize risks and optimize value for the organization, in addition to assisting with troubleshooting supply disruption events with appropriate internal and external teams.
  • Coordinates legal review of contracts with the Category Manager and other stakeholders (end user, Legal, Finance, Information Services, Privacy, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with company policy and contractual obligations, including spend and market share commitments.
  • Develops contract practice standards and operating procedures.
  • Supports the RFx process from issuance to award.
  • Supports and actively engages in training, guidance, and education of new and existing staff.
  • Manages supplier onboarding, supplier credentialing, and rebate tracking, ensuring financial accuracy and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
