The Mission

As an Oracle DBA – Exadata Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, reliability, and continuous improvement of mission-critical Oracle database platforms running on Oracle Exadata infrastructure. You will work across the full Exadata stack, including database, storage, compute, and networking components, ensuring high performance, availability, and operational excellence for critical business workloads.

Your day to day

  • Manage and maintain Oracle 19c/21c databases deployed on Oracle Exadata platforms;
  • Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN environments to ensure high availability and recoverability;
  • Monitor and optimize database and platform performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, execution plan analysis, and Exadata-specific features;
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning databases, storage cells, networking, and cluster environments;
  • Perform Exadata administration activities, including CELLCLI, DCLI, storage management, patching, and lifecycle upgrades;
  • Leverage Exadata capabilities such as Smart Scan, Smart Flash Cache, Storage Indexes, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and IORM to maximize platform performance;
  • Collaborate with engineering and application teams to investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions;
  • Automate operational processes using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar technologies;
  • Contribute to platform standards, operational procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing initiatives;
  • Support security, compliance, and operational risk management requirements.

What you’ll bring to the team

Experience : 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in enterprise environments; 3+ years of hands-on Oracle Exadata experience supporting production workloads;

Tech stack/ knowledge

Mandatory

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Linux administration;
  • Proven experience with SQL performance tuning and execution plan analysis;
  • Experience using AWR, ASH, and ADDM for diagnostics and performance optimization;
  • Solid understanding of Exadata storage management, CELLCLI, flash cache tuning, and IORM resource management;
  • Knowledge of Exadata networking technologies, including InfiniBand or RoCE;
  • Experience planning and implementing Exadata patching and upgrade activities;
  • Hands-on scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools;
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work effectively in complex technical environments;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Oracle Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS) or Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC);
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices;
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms;
  • Experience supporting high-throughput, low-latency, or large-scale enterprise database environments;
  • Oracle certifications related to Database Administration or Exadata.

Foreign languages: Excellent written and spoken English;

Education : nice to have bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
