Information Security Engineer Senior Associate An Information Security Engineer Senior Associate is typically an entry-level or junior position in the field of information security. This role focuses on helping to protect an organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Here is a general job description for an Information Security Engineer Senior Associate: Job Title: Information Security Engineer Senior Associate Job Type: Full-time Department: Information Security/Information Security Engineering Reports To: Senior Information Security Engineer Job Summary: As an Information Security Engineer Senior Associate, you will assist in safeguarding the organization's information systems and data by helping to design, implement, and maintain effective security measures. You will work closely with engineers, senior engineers and other team members to identify vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role provides an opportunity for growth and development in the field of cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls to protect the organization's systems, networks, and data. Monitor security systems and logs for potential threats and vulnerabilities. Participate in the investigation and response to security incidents and breaches. Help conduct security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability scans. Collaborate with other IT and security team members to develop and implement security policies and procedures. Assist in the maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security appliances. Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, and provide recommendations for improvements. Help in ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Contribute to security awareness training for employees and other stakeholders. Prepare documentation and reports on security incidents, investigations, and remediation efforts. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and information security concepts. Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus. Additional Information: May be required to work outside of regular hours in response to security incidents.
