About The Role
The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all HVAC systems which includes Air Handling Units, Humidification/dehumidification systems, Chillers, Fan coil Units, Water source heat pumps, Refrigeration units, Heat exchangers, Chilled & Hot water distribution, Building Management System, Dust collectors units & Vacuum units of the facility in good working conditions.
Schedule
1st SHIFT 7AM - 3:30PM TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
Essential Functions
- Coordinates with various department for preventive maintenance, calibration and break down maintenance of facility equipment such as Air handling units, RTU,ARU, FCU, WSHP, Chiller, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Chilled & Hot water Generation & Distribution system, BMS system, Dust collector & Vacuum systems.
- Under minimal supervision, conducts breakdown and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems & controls, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of all HVAC-systems).
- Completes documentation (work orders, log books) to reflect work performed.
- Supervises activity carried out by outside contractors for any maintenance, repairs, new projects, and calibration on all HVAC systems.
- Maintains documents related to preventive maintenance, break-down maintenance, and usage logbooks following SOPs and cGMP rules. Daily monitoring of facility temperatures and RH%.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Provides support to execute qualification protocol utilities equipment installation and operations.
- Interacts daily with various departments and outside contractors to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
- Cooperates and communicates effectively with Supervisor/manager/director and other participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Determines equipment preventative maintenance schedule by reviewing preventative maintenance master plan.
- Responds to emergency calls and works on-call schedules as needed (either during or outside of regular working hours). May be required to work weekends and extended hours to meet company needs. Required to be on call for emergency situations.
- Runs and installs all new HVAC, refrigeration, humidifier, dehumidifier and other accessory equipment including brazing of piping.
- Troubleshoots control wiring and control circuitry and repair as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs additional tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Reads blueprints, piping and writing diagrams.

Education
- High School or GED - Required
- Vocational / Technical HVAC certification EPA clean air section 608 universal - Required
Experience
- 5 years or more in HVAC
Specialized Knowledge
- Understanding of HVAC, refrigerant, humidification & dehumidification system, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems.
- Ability to operate power tools and diagnostic equipment to test, troubleshoot, and repair various systems.
- Must be able to work on gas lines, steam lines and other mechanical repair jobs.
- Must be able to read and follow SOPs, cGMPs, and Work Order Requests.
- Must follow all OSHA guidelines.
Additional Requirement: This position requires successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
The hourly base salary for this position ranges from $29.00 to $34.00 per hour. Amneal ranges reflect the Company’s good faith estimate of base salary that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting.
