We provide professional excellence with joy and celebration to all those we serve. The Need For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. Nine out of nine times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people living in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Manager, Communications to develop messaging strategies, communications delivery systems, and repeatable frameworks that enable IJM to deliver consistent, high‑impact messaging for mass audiences across global markets. This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non‑local candidates. It reports to the Global Director, Marketing Communications and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US. Responsibilities Operationalize IJM’s global marketing communications strategy by translating organizational priorities into clear, audience‑relevant messaging across campaigns, channels, and markets; Manage day‑to‑day workflow of the writing team, prioritizing projects and assigning work aligned to global strategy and organizational priorities; Provide strategic direction, editorial oversight, and coaching to strengthen message clarity, audience relevance, and persuasive effectiveness; Design and manage a structured communications delivery model that improves speed, consistency, and quality through effective intake processes, workflow prioritization, and messaging alignment; Develop and maintain global messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and reusable content assets that strengthen brand coherence across initiatives; Lead development and refinement of messaging across digital, social, print, presentation, and live experience formats; Identify gaps in messaging clarity, brand alignment, and communications execution and develop plans to address those gaps through frameworks, assets, and process improvements; Maintain shared messaging resources, including stewardship of the Global Communications SharePoint hub as a system of record; Apply audience insights, engagement performance data, and test‑and‑learn methodologies to refine messaging strategies and improve effectiveness over time; Coach writers and cross‑functional partners on audience‑centered communication principles, ethical use of AI‑enabled writing tools, and disciplined content development practices; and Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field; Seven or more years of experience in marketing communications, content strategy, copywriting, or brand messaging, including experience developing messaging for multi‑channel campaigns; Two or more years of experience leading content strategy, managing a communications team, or overseeing a communications delivery model or content ecosystem; Excellent writing and editorial skills, with proven experience developing messaging frameworks, narrative structures, or content strategies used across organizations; Experience translating complex subject matter into clear, audience‑relevant messaging across global contexts preferred; and Experience using content performance insights, testing approaches, and emerging tools, including AI‑enabled writing technologies, to improve communication effectiveness.
