About The Role

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
  2. Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
  3. Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
  4. Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates.
  5. Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care.
  6. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
  7. Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  8. Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
  9. Fit patients with durable medical equipment
  10. Administrative duties including answering phones, obtaining authorizations, and replying to patient messages
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  12. Cross coverage is required for both locations in the event continuity of coverage is needed. Flexibility for locations and shifts is required. There is a third satellite location in Warren.

Required

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.

Preferred

  1. Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
  2. 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
  3. Strong communication and teamwork is required.
