About The Role

The Nurse Educator collaborates with department leaders to ensure staff receive comprehensive initial orientation and ongoing education that supports excellence in care delivery and compliance with job requirements. This role assists in developing and maintaining accurate educational materials for patients and families, promoting understanding and engagement in their care. Additionally, the Nurse Educator coordinates student, resident, and shadowing experiences to provide meaningful, well-structured learning opportunities that align with organizational standards and professional development goals.

The successful candidate

  • Must be able to work ONSITE Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p
  • Develops and delivers educational programs to support ongoing clinical staff growth in oncology
  • Designs, coordinates, and evaluates training to maintain and enhance employee competencies and performance
  • Leads new employee clinical and nursing orientation, including needs assessments and competency validation plans
  • Plans and facilitates education on new processes, products, and equipment for clinical staff
  • Evaluates effectiveness of educational initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and professional development
  • Oversees and continuously improves key programs, including Nurse Residency, Fellowship, Preceptor, and Student/Intern programs
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and demonstrates high integrity in all responsibilities
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s (MSN) preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of patient care experience; oncology experience preferred
  • Licensure: Active and valid Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Certifications:
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy and Hematologic Stem Cell certifications required within 3 months of hire
  • National nursing certification (e.g., OCN, CCRN, RN-BC) preferred
  • Preferred Background: Experience in oncology, stem cell, acute care, or critical care
