- Clinical Manager, Pharmacy, is responsible for strategic planning, implementation, management and monitoring for clinical pharmacy services.
Responsibilities include
- Review and manage drug formulary processes and implement cost savings initiatives through contracts and P&T activities.
- Manage, assess and optimize staff performance of clinical services.
- Responsible for developing training and educational programming and competencies for clinical programs.
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy software applications.
- Responsible for the development and management of DUE/MUE and performance improvement programs for pharmacy.
- Work collaboratively with team to assure regulatory and survey compliance.
- Serve as system content expert for progressive clinical pharmacy services, assuring standardized outcomes at all entities.
- Provide oversight for the Winchester Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Program.
- Serve as liaison with Shenandoah University for clinical programs.
Education
BS Pharmacy or Pharm D, and advanced degree or certification (or equivalent education/experience) required. Completion of ASHP accredited residency preferred.
Experience
3-5 years appropriate acute care and clinical management pharmacy experience.
Certification & Licensures
Virginia Pharmacist License (or licensure eligibility) Required
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accreditation standards as they relate to medication management.
- Thorough working knowledge of pharmacy operations, processes and policies appropriate to hospital setting.
- Understands principles of high reliability, performance improvement mechanisms and data collection.
- Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
